TS Ida Moving West-Northwest

While still far out over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean, Tropical Storm Ida is expected to decrease forward speed but slowly strengthen some during the next 48 hours, according to the National Hurricane Center Sunday morning September 20, 2015.

Ida’s sustained winds are near 40 mph, NHC states. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 125 miles from its center. Ida is moving toward the west-northwest at near 15 mph with a turn toward the northwest expected on Monday and Tuesday, it adds.

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
